Fiction at its best from a bright new author! Intriguing plots and life-like characters created by a police detective and retired medical examiner. Quick, enjoyable reads that are real page turners and now in e-books too!

Jesse MacWilliams, is a pseudonym for her real name, D'Michelle DuPre. Her pen name is made up of her three Shih Tzu's names: Jessie, Mac and Willie. Firends call her Jesse or just "Doc".
Before finishing college, DuPre became one of the first women police officers in the state and even walked a beat! After spending time as a patrol officer, she became a detective for the county sheriff's department and has also worked undercover. These experiences translate well into many of the creative plots found in MacWilliams novels today.
Upon finishing college, she began working for a Fortune 500 Company and had the opportunity to travel the world over to many exotic places, her favorites are Portugal and Thailand!
After a time in the business world, DuPre wanted to follow her dream of becoming a forensic pathologist. She attended medical school and after several more years of study, she began working as a Medical Examiner, and thus established her background for technically correct and intriguing plots. It also began her lifelong dream of writing mystery novels.
DuPre now lives in South Carolina and hopes oneday to make writing a full time career. Although MacWilliams writes strictly fiction, many of the characters and events in life have influenced the unique writing style and inspired the intriguing plots so believeable they could easily be today's headlines (and some have been!)
DuPre regularly consults on the Headline News Network HLN on PrimeTime New with Ashleigh Banfield and previously for the Nancy Grace Show. She has published two textbooks for law Enforcement officers on Homicide Investigation and another one on the Investigation of Child Abuse, both published by Elsevier Academic Press.
She has also been an instructor at the state police academy where she taught crime scene investigation and may other police science courses. Currently, she is a professor at the University of the West Indies and at a local college where she is the Director of the Master in Criminal Justice Program. She is a guest speaker at many medical and law enforcement conferences throughout the US and continues to write mystery novels under the name Jesse MacWilliams. She graduated from the Culinary and Wine Institute, is a certified barbeque judge for SC Barbeque Association and writes cookbooks under the name of Chef MishaLee....in her spare timewhen she is not teaching medical or criminal justice classes.
Jesse loves to hear from readers. "Readers give inspiration and often assist in making future story plots more meaningful." She has also been known to offer characters in her books for charity events!
